Due to climate change, heat, drought and bark beetle infesta­tion, more than 900,000 hectares of conife­rous forest died across Germany, as the German Aerospace Centre reported in September 2025 after evalua­ting satel­lite data. We need climate-tolerant mixed deciduous forests that promote drinking water, protect the climate and streng­then biodi­ver­sity as well as soils.
