2024: 21.8 hectares of near-natural forest conversion

Hamburg, 21.01.2025. Trinkwasserwald e.V. thanks all supporters for the wonderful commitment in 2024. Following the drought of recent years, which claimed over 500,000 hectares of forest, with support from companies as well as 589 adults and 40 children in 34 environmental protection actions, a total of 21.8 hectares of forest were replanted – primarily on damaged areas created by drought and bark beetles in recent years. A bright spot! In total, 82,916 trees of 19 different species were planted. These drinking water forests will in future increase groundwater recharge by 17,440,000.00 litres per year.
