2024: 21.8 hectares of climate-resilient mixed deciduous woodland
Hamburg, 21/01/2025. Trinkwasserwald e.V. thanks all supporters for their wonderful commitment in 2024. Following the drought of recent years, which cost over 500,000 hectares of forest, support from companies, 589 adults and 40 children enabled 34 environmental protection actions to reforest a total of 21.8 hectares of woodland – mainly on damaged areas that had been created by drought and bark beetles in recent years. A ray of hope! In total, 82,916 deciduous trees of 19 different species were planted. These new 21.8 hectares Trinkwasserwald woodlands can increase groundwater recharge compared with coniferous forests in future by 10.9 to 26.16 million litres per year.
