Team-building in the forest: sustainable environmental education for businesses
Trinkwasserwald e.V. offers companies with the „Forest Experience World“ an environmental education programme for employees, customers and business partners. The programme is aimed primarily at adults and combines tree-planting activities with knowledge-sharing about natural forest ecosystems and sustainable forestry. Team-building training in the forest uses nature as a „lecture theatre“ and naturally provides the material for demonstration. Experiencing the forest conveys personal experiences of the complex interrelationships and cycles of nature, as well as inspiration for the necessary interplay between economy and ecology.
Team and experience days in the forest
Forest Experience World: In groups of 12–15 people, participants plant broadleaf saplings under the guidance of trained environmental educators and forestry specialists. In the process, they learn about ecological interrelationships. Participating companies receive a certificate for the joint creation of a drinking-water forest.
Team-building programme: The alternative format combines nature experience with team development – for a wide variety of teams and management levels. The aim is to strengthen personal responsibility, community and trust within the team – inspired by the natural management system. For greater humanity and togetherness, for value creation through appreciation, as well as resilience.

Learning content at the end of such a day
- Experiencing and appreciating nature, yourself and the team
- learning how forestry can be designed in harmony with nature
- discovering synergistic relationships in nature (e.g. forest and water)
- understanding the direct and indirect consequences of one’s own lifestyle for nature
- experiencing the importance of sustainable action and the feeling of responsibility: together, everyone plants trees, a forest that will enrich us and future generations – meaningful action creates motivation and promotes a sense of responsibility
- experiencing the significance of „think globally and act locally“
Companies position themselves as active players in environmental protection and create measurable sustainability success.
The business case for green action is clear:
Companies that focus on sustainability today not only win their customers’ trust – they also measurably increase their profitability.
The German Society for Consumer Research confirms the shift: sustainability has changed from a nice-to-have to a must-have. Customers consciously buy from companies that take ecological responsibility.
Boston Consulting Group analysed 300 companies and provides the undeniable proof: companies with active socio-ecological commitment achieve up to 8.2% higher profits than the industry average. And: top talent wants to work for meaningful companies, which also reduces staff turnover. The BCG study „Total Societas Impact: A New Lens for Strategy“ shows: sustainability is no longer a cost centre – it is the success factor for future-proof companies.
The question is no longer WHETHER sustainability pays off, but whether you can afford NOT to act sustainably.
Here you can see how many companies have already supported us, thankfully, with planting deciduous trees in the forest.
