With a climate-resilient forest
Safeguard drinking water

The step from a vulnerable coniferous forest to a diverse, resilient mixed deciduous forest means not only protection against the effects of climate change, but also the safeguarding of our groundwater and drinking water – our most valuable asset.

Trinkwasserwald e.V. supports your forest conversion…

  • You simply send us the completed application.
  • We will get in touch with you personally, talk about your area and the possibilities for forest conversion.
  • If your forest is suitable, we will look for donors for your forest conversion for 12 months and get back to you as soon as we find one.
  • As soon as a donor has been found, a contract is concluded that regulates the conversion with several native deciduous tree species. The aim is to establish permanent mixed deciduous forest structures.
  • The costs required for establishing the plantation in accordance with good forestry practice (site-appropriate planting material, planting, protection against browsing by game and – if absolutely necessary – soil preparation) are covered proportionally by Trinkwasserwald e.V.
  • We monitor your area and discuss possible replanting with you until the plantation is considered permanently secured.

Forest conversion creates added value for people and nature

Your forest becomes fit for the future, nature becomes more resilient, and society benefits because your forest generates more clean drinking water and provides a home for species. With your decision, you give future generations a climate-resilient forest and set an example of responsible action. Thank you.

We look forward to hearing from you.
