{"id":1580,"date":"2025-08-18T16:39:09","date_gmt":"2025-08-18T14:39:09","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/dev.trinkwasserwald.de\/?p=1580"},"modified":"2025-08-18T16:42:35","modified_gmt":"2025-08-18T14:42:35","slug":"schulprojekt-wir-pflanzen-zukunft","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.trinkwasserwald.de\/en\/schulprojekt-wir-pflanzen-zukunft\/","title":{"rendered":"School project: We plant the future!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Coope\u00adra\u00adtion with Heinrich-Hetz School and the Kl\u00f6ven\u00ads\u00adteen Forestry Office:<\/strong>&nbsp;With a tree-planting campaign by pupils from Heinrich-Hertz School, the multi-year project \u201eWe Plant the Future!\u201c began on 14 April 2016, a coope\u00adra\u00adtion between Trinkwasserwald e.V., Heinrich-Hetz School and the Kl\u00f6ven\u00ads\u00adteen Forestry Office.<!--more--><\/p>\n<h2>School forest in Kl\u00f6ven\u00ads\u00adteen Forest<\/h2>\n<p>With a tree-planting campaign by pupils from Heinrich-Hertz School, the multi-year project \u201eWe Plant the Future!\u201c began on 14 April 2016, a coope\u00adra\u00adtion between Trinkwasserwald e.V., Heinrich-Hetz School and the Kl\u00f6ven\u00ads\u00adteen Forestry Office. This created the Heinrich-Hertz School\u2019s school forest, the \u201eHHS drinking water forest\u201c. During accom\u00adpanying environ\u00admental educa\u00adtion sessions at the \u201eWaldschule Kl\u00f6ven\u00ads\u00adteen\u201c, the pupils regularly go on explo\u00adra\u00adtory walks through the newly created woodland to engage inten\u00adsi\u00advely with the topics of forest, drinking water and nature conser\u00adva\u00adtion.<\/p>\n<p>Thanks to the great fundrai\u00adsing campaign during a sponsored run in 2014, Heinrich-Hertz School was able to create its \u201eown woodland area\u201c in Kl\u00f6ven\u00ads\u00adteen, and during the prepa\u00adra\u00adtions for the future woodland area, pupils from the NaWi profile classes 7a and 7f helped out energe\u00adti\u00adcally together with their class teachers. After\u00adwards, the pupils were given a guided tour of the neigh\u00adbou\u00adring forest.<\/p>\n<p>Through the school forest, Trinkwasserwald e.V. promotes the native tree species beech, the so-called mother of the forest. On the one hand, the beech protects the soil with its broad crown and on the other hand, with its leaves falling in autumn, it enriches the humus layer on the ground. The leaves decom\u00adpose well and leave behind the lime and protein brought up from deeper soil layers by the beech onto the forest floor. The humus is there\u00adfore enriched by the beech\u2019s positive ecolo\u00adgical contri\u00adbu\u00adtion. After many years, when the beech has grown well, it can be harve\u00adsted as valuable timber.<\/p>\n<h2>Heinrich-Hertz School<\/h2>\n<p>Heinrich-Hertz School is a large, long-estab\u00adlished school in Hamburg which, with its sections, grammar school and district school, offers a compre\u00adhen\u00adsive general educa\u00adtion spectrum and is recog\u00adnised as a UNESCO project school. There are about two hundred UNESCO project schools in Germany, and five in Hamburg alone. \u201eTogether we commit ourselves to our global respon\u00adsi\u00adbi\u00adlity, we take a view of the world, our daily learning and teaching relates to humanity. Our many projects on global themes find a common frame\u00adwork in the princi\u00adples of UNESCO. In this way we streng\u00adthen our school commu\u00adnity and take more interest in the projects of the other pupils and classes. We develop joint projects that affect the whole school and, even in subject teaching, make sure that ecolo\u00adgical, social, inter\u00adcul\u00adtural and global themes are addressed.\u201c<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"fusion-responsive-typography-calculated\" data-fontsize=\"16\" data-lineheight=\"71.04px\">Kl\u00f6ven\u00ads\u00adteen Forest<\/h3>\n<p>The Altona District Office, manager of Kl\u00f6ven\u00ads\u00adteen Forest, is committed to the sustainable develo\u00adp\u00adment of the forest and to supporting forest educa\u00adtion and the teaching of values in schools and youth work. This guiding principle is reflected in the overall forestry opera\u00adtion and especi\u00adally in the Waldschule Kl\u00f6ven\u00ads\u00adteen. The Waldschule Kl\u00f6ven\u00ads\u00adteen has been awarded twice as an official sustaina\u00adbi\u00adlity project of the UNESCO World Decade of \u201eEduca\u00adtion for Sustainable Develo\u00adp\u00adment\u201c.<\/p>\n<p>\u201eWe Plant the Future!\u201c has been an official project of the UN Decade on Biodi\u00adver\u00adsity since 2019<br>\nOn 25 April 2019, the project \u201eWe Plant the Future!\u201c was offici\u00adally recog\u00adnised by the UN Decade on Biodi\u00adver\u00adsity. The award was presented by Ralf Behrens from the Hamburg Autho\u00adrity for Environ\u00adment and Energy, on behalf of the UN Decade office, during a formal ceremony at Heinrich-Hertz School.
